[Solved] Illusions

Hey.

I heard that there's somekind of special command that can instantly create an illusion. I would like to use this way instead of needing to create all those dummy abilities, items and units.

I made a little test map and I'm here asking someone who knows is here to add the command to the test map. When player clicks a unit creates an illusion of it.

You need wand of illusion item to create an illusion just like that. You can summon dummy, create and give him item and order it to 'use item' action (you will have to refer to item slot + target).

You can also (with jass usage) make use of:

call IssueTargetOrderById(GetTriggerUnit(), 852274, GetSpellTargetUnit())

Use the order ID Spinnaker has provided for the wand of illusion ability. Unlike most abilities, wand of illusion does not have an order string, and only an order ID.

You give a dummy unit (preferably a recycled dummy unit to avoid unit leaks) a modified version of the wand of illusion ability. Your then order the unit using the wand of illusion order ID to cast the ability at the unit you want to make an illusion of.

Spinnaker posted an example piece of script showing how to issue the order to the unit. Do remember to substitue the widget for the appropiate target and the source for the appropiate dummy unit.

No, you need to use script simlar to what he gave but adapted to work for you.

So no one uses the original Mirror Image ability?


Well I guess this is it. I was searching a little simpler way to create illusions and now I have it! I don't need anymore items just the dummy unitt and the ability. Great job guys, really great job. Thanks to Spinnaker, Dr Super Good and -Kobas- for the help you've gave! Thanks again.
