I will list many of suggestions made by people for previous icon contests/phoenix trials that weren't in the end chosen. Descriptions aren't by me, I just copy pasted those.

1 Sci-Fi Alternative Make icons that is science fiction / science fantasy / futuristic alternatives to warcraft 3 icons

2 Upgrades & Tech A semi-wildcard theme, where you will be required to draw a minimum of four icons, but you can draw as much as you want. This theme features the classical upgrades; the three levels for offense and defense, the two levels for casters, and any other miscellaneous tech upgrades.

3 Hunter's Call This theme requires you to draw icons of abilities that are related to hunters and that expertise. Tracking a unit, finding the weak points, sprinting, scavenging slain creatures for loot and invisibility will all do.

4 Blizzard Icons Contestants create icons representing characters of the Blizzard franchises. You can go from Warcraft(Except Warcraft III), Diablo franchises, StarCraft I and II, WoW, HotS(Heroes of the Storm), etc.

5 Horror Characters Imagine a horror character as a warcraft 3 hero, make icons fitting that character. The character can be characters that exists in like movies or comics, or draw in your creation. (Frankenstein, Dracula, Cthulhu, Pinhead, Jason Voorhees, etc.)

6 Movement Create icons related to movement. You can imagine like the boots of quel'thalas icon as it's a shoe and other example is boots of speed icon.

7 Time Create icons related to time. The main point is a clock. But you can draw a Time Machine or a man activating a Time Machine.

8 Elemental Create icons that represents the four elements of Wind, Water, Fire, and Earth. It is mostly used in a form of abilities.

9 Hero Replacement Pick a ladder hero, and redraw all his/her ability icons.

I actually have no suggestions so far. I'll be fine whatever theme's chosen. And to bump the thread too.

My suggestions
1. Animal icons, each participants are required to draw an icon representing one animal and their abilities.
(one icon for portrait and 3 ability icons.
2. Nature icons, all participants are required to paint an icon representing nature. (Nature-related spells or items)

Most of the possible themes has been stated out, #9 Hero Replacement sounds good.
I may be joining, depends on the theme really, coz I can only do some simple drawing.
