I've extracted the file NightElfCampaign3D.mdx from the mpq, which is the Night Elf campaign background from RoC. I edited it with a model editor for a campaign I'm working on. Now, everytime I enter the game into the Night Elf campaign, the edited version shows up, not the original one with an archer. I don't ever remember replacing any file inside the MPQ. How can I fix this? I don't want to touch/replace something and screw my whole game. :/

I already tried restarting everything that could be restarted btw.

Can you not install warcraft 3 again? Without removing/uninstalling your current WC3 folder.
I, for example, have like 5 or 6 different versions of WC3 installed at the same time on my computer.
So after you do that, just extract the night elf RoC background model from the new version you installed and replace the bugged one with the one you extracted from the new game you installed.

Shouldn't be hard to do, since you seem to know how to navigate your way through the MPQs

In theory, yes, but I'd prefer not to, because I have a ton of files (models, textures, maps, campaigns, replays, saved campaigns), and I'm afraid to lose any of them.

I have two versions installed, the latest patch to play online, and 1.27 to make maps and stuff (I felt comfortable on this patch).

What do you mean? You already have 2 versions as you said, get a 3rd one and extract the model from there and import it into the MPQs of your current bugged version.
What do you mean lose? As far as I am aware, you will not lose any progress.

Get 1.29.2 for example
That is what I need. I know how to export, but I never really imported into the MPQ. At least not on purpose. Is there a guide on how to?
