How we put or import weapons into models??

mmm

thank you for the help but i still not understand

hum 1st: do we have to get an attachement from import?
or we could take weapons from other
orginal warcraft models...

becose my map is already full of models so i want to know if i can put orginal weapons instead of import custom weapons..

2nd:when i have weapon.. where exacly do i put it to make a specific unit to detect the weapon?

in ( Art-Target Attachement Point 1)
string: Right hand

is it how we do it????
and where do i bring the model into ...unit? or ability? after do i bring model into affect??

u cant use original weapons, u must import them

u should use string: 'hand, right' or 'hand, left' just look at blood lust and copy the strings iif it doesnt work

i said, use the sphere ability, the bloodmage uses it. just go to object editor, make custom ability and base it on sphere. then change cooldown to 0, target to the imported weapon and attachment point to 'hand, right' or 'hand,left'

it doesnt work

i did do every thing u told me but it doesnt work

my blood mage as no weapon on is hand

art-Target : clawshand 1
art -AttachementPoint 1 : hand, right
Stats- Cooldown : 0.00

and this is in ability of Sphere
- i deleted all other attachment with sphere and its the only thing i did.....

but after i tryed to put it into blood mage

Ability : Default Active Ability : Sphere

what did i do wrong??????

the model work

my model do work becose i have a predator hero and is claws are attached to him so i took is claws and i wanted to transfer it into my sphere custom spell

hum still doesnt work..... becose my bloodmage is a new skin soo i tryed 2 heros

bloodmage : new skin
and panadin :

i took off all there strings and i puted : right,hand

none of them as the claws

is it becose blood mage as a different skin from the original? if yes...

why did hero paladin attachement (with sphere spell)
did not work

is it becose of my spell?? becose i used a custom abiltiy (sphere) and it still dont work!!

i know that my model do work soo im sure im missing a
something in my spell propreties or the hero propreties

plz help me ( im almost there!)
 
Go to the object editor, hit item - capture the flag, scroll down to art - target, put in the model file, then go to attachment points - target (or something like that) and type the attachment point in this format:

I tried em both, and flag is alot easier sir. If your attaching a sword or something to the right hand (like he probibly wats) you just change the model file. That simple. Hahah owned. *cough*pointlessjoke*cough*

becose u said its easyer.. i just want an right or left hand attachement for a sword or a hammer or claws

hum ill try ur flag spell attachement...

No they arent, flag is much better and faster to change.
For sphere you need to change:
Missile Art
Target
Target Attachment Point 1
Target Attachment Point 2
Target Attachment Point 3
Target Attachments
(and maybe Cooldown, not sure, probably not)

For flag, you need to change:
Target
Target Attachment Point 1 (only incase he's not attaching a weapon)

Well the question was which one was the better, and as there is lesser things to change on the flag (= lesser time consuming, especially if you have lots of abilities ) I'd say that the flag is better.

Yes the flag is way better to use (really faster)

and i have 1 more question....
is there a way to delete weapon from original model or you only could put it on the left hand side for two handed swords??

You can make a search for tutorials, you could also check out Whitehorns here on wc3sear

I have a another question!

i have a question


is there a way to set ur import weapon into ur caracter without using a item

i just want to use it into a
-active ability or
-abilty normal

but when i set the ability (weapon attached) it dont work..

the only way to detect a weapon is by an item??

ofcourse not, i ketp saying u could also use 'sphere' is a normal unit abilty also used by the bloodmage, just do these steps:

1) change target
2) change attachment points
3) set cooldown to 0
4) remove missle art

give this ability to the unit u want and it gets the weapon

ok

my ability attachment works but the weapon shows where the feets are.. and i know i did the attachment point ----hand,right----

whats is the probleme?

and by the way my ability is set in Ability -Normal

something is wierd

i just have a another probleme with attachment

-when i cast a spell...(depends witch one) an extra sword appears on the ground at the End of the spell animation....it stays on the ground for 3 second

how could I take that off??
 
Personally i create a new item and have the ability Item Damage or Armor Bonus. i change the target model to the weapon or armor and the target attachment point 1 to hand,right or hand,left. i change the bonus to whatever i see fit, make a hero put both item and hero in map, and bam, when you pick up the
item you should have your bonus, and item should look equiped. I tried this with armor on chest but it didnt work, i think it was just the model though. 8)

there is another way... imo its harder tho, u could geomerge the models thogether, ud need to know how to do it n get the software, but u can et the software free n ppl write tutorials for geomergeing n stuff. U could also use your newly gained power to edit the models, but tis harder. Just go with a trigger
event- unit enters entire map
condition- uni equal to (unit you wnana have weapon on)
Action- create special effect on left hand (or right hand) of triggering unit :wink:

ok well i want the same as the poster but i couldnt find the capture the flag in items i understand the whole thing but i just cant fint it
