No you cant. It's only in Starcraft II, Warcraft 3 does not support going underground.

- And for a 448x448 map, I think you need WEU, but in order to run your map properly, you need to start WC3 with WEU Patch, which no-one uses, and thus. Killing your own map. So just stick to what normally is the biggest.

To make 480*480 (yea that's the maximum, not 448*448) map in JNGP you just go to Scenario --> Map Size and Camera Bounds. There you chech "Modify Map Pounds" and just change the map size to whatever you want with the arrows. Make sure that in Grimoire "Enable no limits" is checked.

For the underground, you can make another "mirror" underground map, and trigger it so that if you say, dig underground, your unit is moved to the underground part of the map (e.g. unit casts ability (dig), as long as in diggable region, move unit x down). My explanation is really bad, but that concept is used in the game "water war" - which is an amazing aos game. For other things like abilities, it will be a lot more difficult to do.

Water War - Submerged:

In that map, he makes the underground map just parallel to the above ground map, so the trigger for digging underground to go to the underground part of the map is simply "move unit to point with offset"

  • Event
    • Unit - a unit casts Ability
  • Conditions
    • Ability being cast Equal to (Dig)
    • (Un-diggable area) contains unit equal to false
  • Actions
    • Unit - Move (casting unit) instantly to ((Position of casting unit) offset by (0.00,-x)
To re-emerge, just put the positive value of the thing. It takes a lot of effort to measure and make sure all the regions overlap, etc. though.

, Chewii doesn't meant that with underground.

To Chewii, I have a solution for you but your terrain tiles will get uglier: make everything in the map(s) smaller (the scale + the selection scale + other visual thingies like shadows), lower the movement speed and attack range of units/structures and lower the camera distance. This way it will look like your map is bigger. An advantage of this is that your map filesize won't increase (epic maps weight more than small maps), a disadvantage is that terrain tiles will look low detail.
