How to close threads? :)

I just wanna ask how to close threads. Sry for noobness.

Moderators close threads, regular users cannot.

We currently do not permit users to close their own threads. If you want your thread closed you can report it requesting a close, or ask a capable moderator who is online.

why not?Thread starters should be able to close their threads i guess...that would also save mods some time.

I believe it has something to do with holding users accountable for the threads they start.

I believe that reporting your thread to get it closed is fine.
