How to add team color in camera portraits?

I know how to add team glow to the model but I want to know how to add team glow to the portrait so I can make some models look like authentic heroes. Also, how do you make portraits? I know camera is probably better but if the model has alternate animations then the camera view gets messed up so in that case it's much better to make portraits.
