How the hell do you shade well what-so-ever.

Are you good at making skins.

First off, drop the mad smiley.

Here we have our basic image

Ok, first thing we do is make some layers.

1.

1: create a new layer | 2. Set it to Colour Dodge | 3. Set the opacity to 50%

4: create a new layer | 5. Set it to Colour burn | 6. Set the opacity to 50%

Now its time to slash some shading on it. Select the Paint brush and set it to these settings:

Here I have painted shadows (pure black) on the colour burn layer.

Opposite of the last step, highlights added on the colour dodge layer.

Keep adding smaller shadows and highlights until it looks right : )

i tried...

Well, i tried your method, and it didnt really work very well, the color dodge didnt do anything when i put it on, dunno why. Plz help again?

This is probly lookin noobish, i keep saying more in new posts here, but is there any way to make better shapes, like...not freehanded? :?:
