I checked the data of the abilities but it just raise units and nothings a mystery. Besides it will be a useless skill if you have 6 peasant's corpse and 6 knight's corpse and if it will only raise the weaker unit that is kind of useless

it probably does a lvl check or a priority check. the priority for units may come in handy with this. im not sure if u can check a units priority with triggers.
what u would have to do is use a hashtable and save the units and there priority then do a check to see which unit has the highest priority and revive that one.

Maybe your right! let see.

EDIT:
He's right, I saw the units priorities. Stronger units will ressurect Because they have higher priority.

I do not think it is the "priority" field in the object editor that has something to do with it. I have just tested it and what I find is that it is dependant on two factors
  1. Level of dead unit. The units of higher level will resurrect.
  2. Distance of Dead unit from the Paladin. When units have same level, the units closer to the paladin will resurrect
What I have done is, I brought 6 units of each type of the following: Knights, Riflemen, Footment, Swordsmen, Mortar team, Preists, and sorceresses
Name : Level : Priority
Knight: 4 : 3
Rifleman: 3 : 2
Footman : 2 : 6
Swordsman : 2 : 7
Priest: 2 : 8
Sorceress : 2 : 8

Expirement
6 Footmen and 6 Swordsmen >>>>> the closer of the dead to the paladin will be resurrected:

6 priests and 6 foot men >>>>> the closer to the paladin resurruct
6 priests and 6 sorceressess >>>> the closer to the paladin resurructs
6 knights and 6 Riflemen>>>>> 6 knights resurructs although they are further
6 Riflemen and 6 Mortar team >>>>> 6 Riflemen Resurructs (they were closer but I think because of level)
--------------------------------
Now I made Rifle men level 5 isntead of level 3, which makes them higher level than knights
6 Riflemen and 6 knights >>>> 6 Riflemen Resurructs

Again: Concluision is that it has to do with the unit level, and then if the levels are equal, then the closer to the caster will resurruct
Edit: I think has to do with which unit appear first when u select both: heroes have higher priority and spell casters do as well. priority do not seem to have any effect on the resurruction
