After patch 1.5 you can do it.. ok I brushed region 1 lighting, I brushed region 2 lighting, now I want region 1 one type of lighting, region 2 another type. How do I proceed further? I never used regional lighting and besides the brushing, idk what to do next

Sheesh, I couldn't find any info anywhere on the web not even sc2mapster. Yes, I play Medium settings for Melee, but in my Missions and the Editor both use High Settings, so I can see what's going on. But lighting works even on Medium and lower afaik, it is the light particles that are not seen on lower than High. Ok thanks, gonna try that later.

lol, so this is what the whole lighting per region is about? just changing the tint, not applying any planet lighting...

well the planet lightings have a lot more data to adjust and a lot more tabs, I don't see how you will make one tint of the lighting exactly like that of a planet lighting.

You cannot change things like light direction and how shiny things are. You can however adjust light tint wich corrosponds to various sliders that different planet lighting models use such as what colour is the light, what colour is the shade, what colour are reflections etc.

There are some paramteres that are the same and the same colors and HDR Multiplier can be used. Such as Diffuse Specular, Fill, etc. I did it but I have set the day lighting used for the Terrain set, then for the specific region copied the parameters of the lighting I want. Not sure if there is a difference though. Since the lightings I use are Tyrador and Ulaan, I can't see if the region uses e.g Ulaan or is still Tyrador when the whole terrain is set to use Tyrador. I can't make a difference.

P.S I do the lighting values for region pasted when Tyrador is selected in Window - Lighting, which is the lighting the map uses, I dont click on Ulaan.

Setting regions w diff lighting is needed if you want to do say Interior with normal lighting, Night lighting outside seen from inside through the window, as I have such maps. Thanks though, I got it now how it works.
