There are new multiple ways to generate creep with Zerg in Starcraft II.

1. Creep Tumors that are generated by a Queen they are self replicating so when you place one, you can goto the one you placed and make a new on so you can generate the whole map with one Creep Tumor unless somone destroys it.
2. The creep generated by Overlords which generate creep when you make a Lair out of a hive. It's constant creep generations while the Overlord is not moving in a small area.
3. Nydus Worm when spawned generates creep around it.

SC 1 had A to B system but I think this one is better, now you can fill your network whit units, spawn some worms in the enemies base and facepalm you enemy whit zerglings the moment the worm surfaces, instead of having to move your units into one end and have them come out the other

last night i filled the map with creep by using creep tumors as well as nydus worms. check the screenshots. the purple areas on the minimap is creep. i used some overlords as well.

Well, in-game it helps both as it feeds buildings and they regenerate/build and helps zerg move faster in-game. But it doesn't help a fully healed Zerg building.
