You could store the unit into an array as soon as it picks it up. So you would have every unit with that item always ready in your array. Of cause you have to delete it from the array if it drops that item.
If I'm not wrong, there is a "unit aquires item" event and a "unit drops item" event, and with the Item Comparison class as Conditions you are finished.
