- House -
This is one of my most recent ideas that I was inspired on a few days ago. I've been trying to figure out if this would be a cool thing to try to bring to WarCraft III, and I thought this would be a good place to get some ideas.
- Background Story:
After a strange car accident in the backwoods of Alabama, a young couple find their way to a large, homely-looking house as the sun sets below the horizon. The fearful couple approach the cozy, 'turn-of-the-century' house to find a small note on the door:
"All weary travelers, please enter and sign your name in at the front desk. ~ Travelers' Inn"
The two unsure people enter the building to find a well-lit, peaceful intertior. However, strange things begin to occur after the couple meet up with a few others that had experienced similar accidents leading them to the small home. After meeting the proprietors of the home, two odd country folk and their adult son, things get even wierder.
Strange occurences such a random power failures continue to occur. When the original couple try to leave, they step out onto the house's portico to behold a ghastly sight at the end of the cobblestone walkway: A man in a trench coat toting a double-barreled shotgun.
The couple rushes back into the house and locks the door, waiting for the man to attempt to break in. However, the man does just the opposite: He somehow locks the door from the outside.
After a few more minutes of waiting, they hear an odd, metallic noise emit from the foyer. The group rushes back in, listening to see where the noise was coming from. Then, an object falls into the fireplace.
The group approaches the object, which turns out to be a worn-out tin soup can, and one of the house "guests" observes the writing that has been written on it:
Welcome to my house.
House Rules:
#1. God came into my house and I killed him.
#2. I will kill anyone that comes into my house like I killed God.
#3. Give me one dead body and I may let rule #2 slide.
You have until dawn.
With nothing to be sure of, the house guests now find themselves in the midst of this demented killer's game, with only three basic house rules to follow, which in themselves seem to be something much bigger than they really are.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's the main idea of the story. Other strange events begin to happen, such as rooms moving, doors shutting behind you and openning before you, and much more begin to occur.
In the end, the players have to find a way to win the killer's game. But they will find that winning will be much more of a challenge than they had first thought, with little time to figure out how to win.
If you have any ideas, suggestions, or just criticism overall to help me improve this idea, please post it! Try to keep the comments flame-free and clear though! Thank you.
