Help with understanding: Dummy units...

i was reading through a post (Triggered Skills explained {beta} - DotA Allstars Discussion) and in it he refers to Dummy units alot and i am not sure what they are if someone could give me a quick explanation that would be great. Also he says that many of the moves are based of channel. ive tried using it before and i can never get it to work again 2 secs explanation would be

Dummy's are units(cant be seen mostly) that will get created at said location and do things for you eg. Cast a spell on a target

Dummy..A unit with NO model, movemetnt speed, shadow, sounds... It has invulnarable and it has locust. Its used to cast spells (like you have a hero that casts fire breath and dummy casts flamestrike, and you have 2 spells in one.) Also you can use it for special effect(you can set the height, tinting, size... Its used for may things, adding abilities/items(to reduce lag, or to preload something) It has a great use in Wc3 ^^ You will use it a lot, but the good thing is that you need to make just one,for ally your mapping, you can frealy copy it from one map to another =)
