Ok. Well, take a unit in the object editor, for example the barracks, and change it's "art - model file" to the path of your model.
When you place it, a checkered box will appear and a snippet of text will show in the bottom of the editor window (written in yellow).
This snippet explains why the model could not be loaded.
Post it in this thread and we might be better able to help you.

ok, from my rather extensive expierences with the WE, one of two things will happen when u import a model and set a unit's model to it.
1. Any units of that type on the map already will turn into green boxes and say "couldnt load X model file" or something of the sort
2. The model will change accordingly without a hitch

In anycase, ALWAYS, ALWAYS test map. if you test your map and find your model is working, then its fine. you dont need to restart WE. The only benefit is that you see the model itself in the WE and not a box. If you do everything the author told you to do, you are probably doing it correctly. the WE just has some bugs here and there.
