More details please, whose map is the one you're trying to open? You often get this error when you try to open a protected map, or a map larger than 8MB.. Or, your computer cannot support WE.

Sounds like the map might be corrupt.

The map is either corrupted or protected less chances for corruption though...
Is the map yours ? if not then its against the site rules to open protected maps and redistribute them.
It also can be that the map is over 8 mb so for that you need JNGP on the tools section of this site.
If you can explain your problem, people can help better.
