Helicopter Launch And Land

How to make a Helicopter Launch And Land in a map!

Part one!

Make a new map say 64 X 64 grass map.

Download a helicopter model, Kofi Banan's "CargoHeliV2"
Import it, and make sure it works.

Open up the Object editor, click create new unit select the Gyrocopter and name it "Test Copter 001"

IMPORTANT PART!!!

Find Art - Model File change it to the new helicopter.


Find Scaling properties make it 2.00

Scroll to movement make Height -30.00 and speed 0.00 and change movement type to NONE

Now go down to the bottom and find Editors Suffix and make it Landed.

Now copy it so you have two!

Exept this time at edditors suffix make it Flying

Go back to movement and make Height 350 and speed 350 AND MOVEMENT TYPE FLY

Now go back into the object editor and go to abilities

click new custom ability and find Bear Form UNIT SECTION
Click it call it Launch\Land and hit ok.

The icon don't matter but you can change it anyway.

IMPORTANT PART

Change the DATA - ALTERNATE FORM UNIT to Test Copter 001 Flying and the DATA - NORMAL FORM UNIT to Test Copter 001 Landed

Now change the race to human!

MAKE TECHTREE REQUREMENTS NONE & mana 0

Go back into the unit section it Object Editor

open the Test Copter Landed file and click on Normal - Abilities and add the LAUNCH\LAND skill.

Now do the same to the Test Copter Flying.

THAT WAS THE IMPORTANT PART

Now place the Test Copter Landed on your map make a unit to go inside Eg. Pilot

and have fun with your realistic Helicopter!

Iv done it with a much easier thingy
I create two gyrocpoters
ine is on the ground n doesent move
the other flies
the i use the spell gargole rock form to link them
the stone form allows the hight and assend and decend rate to be edited easily.

Its basicly the smae thing but with stone form instead of bear form
this makes it much easier

Thank you for this it is very helpful. The only problem is i am makeing it so that when it lands it can load and unload units and when it flys i want it so it cant unload however someone could just click the unit and they would be unloaded i tried geting rid of the holding area but then it deleted the units inside anyway i can make it so it wont let them leave unless landed?
