The Blasted Lands you know and love, only for HeroCraft.

What is HeroCraft?
HeroCraft is the custom map player's Melee game.
User players can only use heroes, while computers get to use everything. However, user heroes now get gold, and a high chance to get a tome drop from creep kills. All user hero xp is given a significant boost so you'll get up there pretty quick.

Use the goblin merchant, laboratory, and marketplace to buy awesome items that will help aid you in combatting the entire armies of computer players!

Three gametypes to choose from.
1) Custom - (however the game is set up in game creation)
2) Players vs Computers (Warcraft3 meets Diablo2 basicaly)
3) Free For All - (take no prisoners)

To combat potential cheese, towers are only buildable in Players vs Computers.

Total sucka-ass Noobs: 2:1 Players vs Computers ratio recommended.
Average players: 1:1 Players vs Computers ratio recommended.
Gosu players: 1:2 Players vs Computers ratio recommended.

Interesting.
Have you ever looked at my map called "Art of War"?

Well, my point being is that our projects are quite similar: we spread the gameplay across several different melee maps. And yet, our projects do exactly the opposite - mine changes the gameplay to be similar to Warcraft 2's and Starcraft's, while you emphasize more on the heros.

Yeah this is more like diablo2 than warcraft2.
I was just sitting here one day looking at all of these awesome melee maps and sighing, thinking 'how can I make these awesome maps enjoyable by custom game players who suck at ladder?', and it hit me.
Custom game players love using heroes and items.
Well the heroes were already there, the strategy was already there, all I needed to do was make the shops better and reward player heroes better for creeping.
With some triggers in there to help minimize load time and file size. And a gametype voting system. And a trigger workaround for allied victory. (cause aspects of alliances are changed through triggers)

I'll check out the crucible one but... 1.7Mb, ouch.
You should use vexorians map optimizer to shrink that think down bigtime.
