Harvesting Buff

In my campaign, the main workers are crabs. I want to symbolize that they are gathering resources. I tryed adding a buff to the gather ability that had "Gold Coins" art with an overhead attachment, but that did nothing in the game
Any Ideas?

Summary : I want Gold Coins/Bundle of Lumber to appear above my units while they are returning resources.

i have an idea, but it's for gold gathering only

Here it is;

Create a region around the gold mine, and when the crab leaves the region (after gathering gold) then create the effect to that unit
