Gnome Tinker - Gunstrider

Here's a short infopost. I'm excited to finally share this model with you and hope you find it enjoyable and useful!


Some examples of how you can use animations and icons:
Spell Throw

Hurls a grenade at a target area, dealing 125/200/275 damage to enemy land units and stunning them for 1/2/3 seconds.

Unleashed a series of powerful shots that break through armor of enemy units, causing attacks to do 1.5/2/2.5 times normal damage.

Makes the Hero more elusive to enemies, increasing evasion by 10/15/20% and movement speed by 50/75/100% due to constant mana consumption.
Stand Channel Alternate

The Hero becomes immobilized, but can rotate the Gunstrider to continuously fire explosive projectiles across the target area, dealing up to 35/50/65 damage to nearby enemy land units.

Freaking masterpiece! So much personality! I love how the recoil make him slide backward during Spell slam alternate.

Thanks, man 🙂 True, it took me a while, especially animations, though @AndrewOverload519's geosets helped to speed up the process. Initially it was Ent Mechanostrider lol.

This is insane, I was looking for a gnome agility hero for my map yesterday and I found this today. Omg! It looks perfect thank you! It will be part of War of Races :ogre_love:

Holy crap, incredible. Really dig the creativity in the portrait animations (particularly portrait alternate 3) - I feel those get a bit underused.

Oh wow. I absolutely adore this model. I think it's your best work so far and it's one of my favourite WC3 models of all time. I love all the little details in the animations and mesh. This has to be a must-use for any maps involving gnomes. Absolutely quintessential stuff here!

I think that your intelligent observation and experience in modeling allow you to appreciate the fact that the model, despite such catchiness as, for example, Wight, has a more complete and "joined" mesh, integrity of the image, aesthetics and more profound animations than some of my previous works. I think my models are finally becoming "mature". I'm glad that I joined Factioneers, your support helped me to grow.

It's on par with the best of vanilla styled models from Tauer, HerrDave and Gluma. The anims are beyond awesome. Love the small details like the rider's facial expression.

UPDATE
Size changes:
  • Improved proportions of the main model.

Commentary: The Gnome looked overly "bulby" and his head visually dominated Strider, making him look "Dwarfy". This bothered me when I compared the model to other models in the game.
As a result of the changes, Strider began to look more significant, and the hero became closer to the models from WoW with their big forearms, heads and small feet.

I also made the backpack bigger to further showcase the Gnome in contrast. Had to adjust a lot of animations for that, too much fuss!



New model:
  • Added Automated Mechanostrider with improved 'Portrait' animations, a new 'Death' sequence (in the style of mechanical vanilla units) and additional TC.

Commentary: Can be used as a separate mechanical chivalry unit of the Gnome race.



New attachment:
  • A test map with all the necessary parameters of the Object Editor has been added to the infopost. (Do not re-import models from the map as they may not be final versions.)
Commentary: Transform your hero and have fun destroying Striders!

Now that you gave us the Mechanostrider separately, I wonder if we'll see its rider separately as well at some point. That would be neat!
