So I downloaded Gmax (again) cause I wanted to continue venturing in 3d modeling. BUt still I can't find any Gmax tutorials. Can anybody lead me to the right path of making models , anyone?
Internet Explorer ~~ because of failure lost my long text, I make it short this time:
I have made 'getting utter basic model from Gmax to Warcraft 3' on site (written by me, requires registration to see pictures): http://bylur.com/forums/t463/
I have also on that site my finished models gallery. Currently I am facinated by open source 3D program called Blender which lacks mdl exporter. I am learning python to write one (takes ages).
Check the Elite's Gmax tutorials from here: http://www.wc3c.net/tutorials.php?f=429
Get yourself Warcraft 3 Art Tools Documentation. Gmax can be moody as refreshing your 3D viewport. Gmax is light version of 3ds Max 5 which was used by Blizzard Artists. have good luck!
And dude blender is awesome! Have you seen 2.55 beta? It way awesome! The only downside was the lack of an mdl exporter. Good luck on making one! If you ever make one your are awesome!
I have Blender 2.55, it is developers version, they have implemented new user interface, it resembles 3ds Max user interface now. I do not have much free time (army service, 5 months more). Though I try to keep eye on Blender and its scripting possibilities (new API and many other exporter scripts for 2.55 which teach how to write your own exporters).
