well, the start is great so far! I also like the idea, but the transition beween ice and lava is to short in my opinion. You maybe could make a deeper canyon were 'on the bottom' ( what i mean is just not so close to the surface as it is now) is lava and the cliff is free from ice, while the further away you are from the lava (closer to the surface) the more frozen the cliff is. What i mean is instead of having a lava 'stream' flowing through an ice landscape, make the ice landscape 'ripped up' (by an earthquake for example...) and make lava flow only deep inside those fissures. But anyway you do it i think it will be nice outcome:thumbs_up:

I really like the contrast with the lava and the snow. It may seem a little odd, but I think you can pull it off. I'm interested in seeing how you continue. The thing that interests me the most is probably how you are going to show the lava contacting the snow, surely there has to be some sort of reaction there like lots of steam or melting ice chunks. Good start mate.

I like the idea but the perspective seems off... I can't determine what view is that... The icy and lava part seems a bit of top view, but then you see the sky... or maybe those clouds? is setting it off
What are you talking about?
----------
Updated the terrain. I started to make a background fortress.
Also redone the lava flow a bit. C&C greatly appreciated:)

The more fluid transition from the lava to the snow looks really nice. Good work. I like the red tint to the doodads making them look like they have been burned or are really hot.

Do you realy think it is necessary to rotate the camera to make the picture more exciting?
Normaly it is used for action scenes, in this case it looks more like a cheap trick to improve the composition.
Besides i cannot give you tips for the composition because I dont know what you want to add and where the focus should be.

Whoa, Déjà vu!

This actually reminds me, and makes me remember,
those terrains I did back in the days where the idea
was to mash up two different unfitting environments
in the same terrain. I had a terrible fit, and I produced
a number of horrible terrains in the category.

Anyway, enough about my abominable past.
- Let's talk about you.

Stop doing this terrain and get back here!

Really, seriously, srealriously, I won't comment on
this one till you're done with the contest terrain.

This was still closed when Keiji commented...
Useful comment is useful.

You're right though, Keiji is not living up to his normal standards. He should be fired for this.

OT: I really don't like the models, and I preferred the old theme. The old one had some neat contrast and good composition and balance. This one is all one colour and doesn't have quite as good composition. The Lava could use work too, right now it's really patterned looking.
