Here is where I post my altered melee races ideas, concepts, screenshots, etc. Ultimately, I planned to merge all my finished altered melee races into a single map like Ultimate Battle or The Third Age.

Finished Races
While these races are considered complete, I might update them every now and then.

1. Bandits
Status: Released
Background
Bandits prey upon hapless travelers and soldiers alike. These lawless "rogues" think only of theft and burglary and enjoy causing great pain to their victims as well. Though the Alliance has offered large bounties towards the capture of these wretched men, they always find a way to slink back into the shadows of the wilds.

2. Sisters of Battle
Status: Updated
Background
The Adepta Sororitas, colloquially called the "Sisterhood," whose military arm is also known as the Sisters of Battle and formerly as the Daughters of the Emperor, are an all-female division of the Imperium of Man's state church known as the Ecclesiarchy or, more formally, as the Adeptus Ministorum.

The Sisterhood's Orders Militant serve as the Ecclesiarchy's armed forces, mercilessly rooting out spiritual corruption and heresy within Humanity and every organisation of the Adeptus Terra.

1. Villagers
Status: 60% progress
A generic villager race with inspiration from isekai animes.

2. Adeptus Mechanicus
Status: 50% progress
Background
The Adeptus Mechanicus is the official Imperial name within the Adeptus Terra for the Cult Mechanicus or Cult of the Machine based on Mars which provides the Imperium with its scientists, engineers and technicians.

The tech-adepts of the Mechanicus are the primary keepers of what is viewed as sacred wisdom, a privileged caste of Tech-priests who jealously guard the knowledge required to maintain and construct much of the Imperium's advanced technology.

Mechanics
Unique economy - does not need workers to mine gold and gather lumber (undecided if I make a unit gather lumber instead)
Build Radius - requires buildings to be built near townhalls and plasma generators (might not make it to the map if difficult to implement. If implemented, ai will not be affected by build radius)

3. Corrupted Ancients/Night Elves/Satyr Race
Status: 10% progress
Background
Satyrs (sometimes pluralized as satyr) are a race of bestial demons usually sworn to the Burning Legion. They are created through the spreading of the ancient satyr curse, an affliction which originated with Xavius, a Highborne sorcerer who was destroyed and remade into a demonic form as a punishment for his failures by Sargeras during the War of the Ancients. In modern times, satyrs mostly live in various sects throughout Kalimdor and exist only to harry their hated night elf cousins and obey the will of the Legion, though others have instead sworn fealty to the Old Gods and work to spread the influence of the Emerald Nightmare.

Technically fits the description of altered melee in my opinion. Inspired by Rebuild and Last Stand games.

Fleck's Melee Altered Combined (FMAC)
Disable specific race triggers when no one playing as that race.

I don't know any of these anime so there's not much I can't say of the characters. I've been interested in doing an anime-themed Dungeon Crawler map but there's a severe lack of resources so its fallen by the wayside. I do have some hero ideas left over from it but I'm not sure about them.

I'm also interested in your Warhammer maps so I might check "Sisters of Battle" out later.

Just ported AGAM to FMAC, noticed some bugs and squashed it. The attached FMAC map in the original post has been updated. The next version of AGAM will include new heroes and maybe a new map.

Possible new heroes in no particular order:
Tatsumaki (One Punch Man)
Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titan)
BB (Fate)
Alter Ego S (Fate)

Adding a new map to the Sisters of Battle, AGAM, FMAC is on the to do list.

I also extracted and converted some starcraft audio so I might do a starcraft campaign too somewhere in the future.

Just curious to know, is there any particular reason you're going with Mikasa and not Eren or Levi?

Just my personal preference :grin:
It helps that 300 Heroes already have nice icons of her and Levi on the fandom wiki.
It also lists their abilities from their MOBA game so I already have ideas to work with.
Plus I already made misc fixes to her model and added a very basic skill anim for the 3D Maneuver Gear skill.

Interesting trivia, it actually where my AGAM Black Rock Shooter got her skills and icons from! Sure, I watched the anime and played the psp game but I just struggling to think up skill ideas for her.

We're so back bros!! AGAM v1.4 just released, adding Terrible Tornado and Dead Master, plus background description to all custom heroes in their tooltips. Eventually I would like to replace the default, vanilla creeps with new models (for example Bandits to One Piece Marines, slimes, etc.) and custom tiles.

I'm planning to update FMAC too to include the new heroes and maybe a new map too. Once that is out the way, I'm going to work on my other altered melees. They been on hold for too long...

Recently, I'm inspired to make a linear zombie rpg with limited basebuilding intended for solo or duo players that can be finished in 30 minutes to 1 hour. Features hopefully morale and food system but I will focus on map terrain and basic features first.

Important note: I been repeatedly updated the map today since I keep finding little bugs as I port the new heroes to FMAC. Things like duplicate hotkeys, incorrect ultimate ability damage for Tatsumaki. Please redownload the map, sorry for the inconvenience!

Thanks to MPQ Editor to export imports with the file paths and JNGP for importing imports with the correct file paths so easily, now you can enjoy playing FMAC on a variety of maps crafted beautifully by Zucth and Knecht! Download it from the original post attachments. Also I'm thinking of posting FMAC to the maps section soon.

Minor edit to FMAC, changed voiceset of Exorcist from Naisha to Steam Tank since I replaced Naisha voicelines with Alexstrasza.

With this way out of the way, I will begin on my other altered melees.

Minor Bugfix: Fixed missing custom icons for heretics, reuploaded FMAC attachment maps.

Edit: Also updated original post, writing down my ideas for AGAM.

I'm sure you probably already know this, but there is definitely a Kayako Model on Chaosrealm. I couldn't get it to work in a map, though :(

Kayako, as my favorite ghost, would be amazing to see. I've always seen her as a slow movement teleport-spammer that traps enemies in place and deals heavy damage with her attacks.

Sadako would be cool, as well. You could maybe take inspiration from the game "Dead by Daylight" and make TV's spawn in areas around the map when she's recruited that she can use to teleport to, or something to that effect.

Yea, I do visit from time to time to see what's new. I downloaded the model some time ago but haven't checked it though. Sadly, usually models there and elsewhere have something missing like attachment refs, deathscream, bloodsplats, etc which I why learned basic modelling to fix such issues. I could make misc fixes to the model if you need it for your map.

That's some great ideas! Especially for Sadako I can see how it works and how to implement it. I just need to check my files if I have any tv models and appropriate special effects... Now it's more likely for her to appear in future versions!

Hiya guys, wanted to let you all know on what's happenings to my maps. In general, my mapmaking is on hiatus again but I do intend to continue update current maps, and release new maps.

Villager Race
To be honest, this was supposed to be my second race to be released to go with my bandit race not Sisters of Battle but I have been blessed by the Emperor's golden vision which led to its release. The initial concept for the villagers is different from the current vision I have right now. I have taken great inspiration from isekai/native isekai animes and D&D. Goblin Slayer and High Elf Archer was supposed to be the villager race heroes but I been meaning to make Anime and Game heroes tavern map too so I transferred them to this new map.

I'm only missing a few custom abilities for the race heroes but I can set placeholder default skills for the time being. For the fourth hero of this race, I thought of a hero similar to neutral tavern beastmaster where instead of animals he summon plants to fight his enemies but the models and special effects are from Plants Vs. Zombies which pretty much clash with the default wc3 graphics so I might add this hero to AGAM instead and do a more traditional hero.

What I have been struggling so much with this race is that I needed a farming mechanic to go with this race. Bandits have mercenary mechanic, Sisters their faith so yea. Althavis (check out his cool races!) decided on a wheat mechanic for his Westfall Brigade race, interesting but I couldn't think of anything to make a unique spin on it for my villager race.

A recent request have given me a idea for the farming mechanic that I need to test if viable. Other than that, I have decided on the villagers to be able raise animals from their farms. For example, chickens provide passive income to villager player every (n) seconds. If enemy players kill the farm animals, they gain a very small gold bounty and temporary food.

I also thought about growing several kinds of item crops that can be automatically stockpiled in barn/granary/windmill/etc with a local or global leaderboard regarding crop prices that goes up and down that is affected randomly and by player actions (selling crops) but I think it seems to be tedious and complicated. Any opinions regarding this is appreciated!

Maybe a really basic stock market too where you can store your gold and generate interest.

Bribe: Pays an amount of gold equal to half the target unit's maximum hit points, and takes control of the unit. Bribe cannot be used on Heroes, or creeps above level 5. Cooldown, mana cost and range effectiveness increase with level.

Expected villager race release: 2025

Adeptus Mechanicus Race
I'm mostly done with misc model fixes. All that remains is the triggers.
Originally, I planned to utilize mana for non-vehicles units. If the mana of these units reach zero, they will become inactive (paused) until a Adeptus Mechanicus hero, ability, item and building restore these units mana. I also don't want these units to gain mana from generic sources (fountain of mana, non-Adeptus Mechanicus units, etc). It seems making the race immune to spells is the way to achieve what I want but this is... imbalanced. Now that I think about this, I can probably make a workaround with a custom aura and 100+ level ability. This race is on hold until Villager race is done.

The Villager Race sounds very interesting. I like the concept and the theme around trade and economy.

Overall I prefer "gimmicky" (if that's the right word) Factions and you certainly deliver them.

I never imagined I'd see a Siege Tower outside of a Siege Map, but it's a great idea. It's easier for Villagers to construct a wooden tower than a Catapult or similar siege engine, after all, imo.

I'm looking forward to your other updates as well, especially to AGAM. I didn't know you were developing a Campaign but I'll certainly stay tuned and contribute if I can.

Also I don't know if there's a character limit but I hope not...

I really like the idea of raising poultry and livestock, cultivating crops and the stock market one.

1. you can have a building/unit/ability generate livestock they can be free-range or such, after x seconds or minutes the animal will disappear and you will gain gold.
Ex. Raise pig - pig lasts for 120 seconds - after timer, gain gold (However, enemy killing your livestock will also give them the gold)

2. you can also invest, let's say you will invest for 500 gold and will gain 600 (20% interest) after x seconds/minutes. You can make buildings cast/train or something for it(I'm not really sure anymore), the market being destroyed should not refund your investment.

Making a specific farming mechanic for a race is sure complicated, you want it to be immersing as possible but also not to time-consuming and complex to learn. I am actually stuck with my Westfall Brigade race due to this problem (and of course due to college).

There are other ideas to trade and economy in my mind but it is vaguely related to farming. Stock Market is one of them and it might be more suited to a medieval race with an alternate mercenary system where non-vanilla mercs costs no food require gold upkeep every (n) seconds to circumvent the unit cap. If the player doesn't have enough gold, the mercs will become neutral hostile that will briefly disappear and then appear attacking the player base. I'm not sure how many units a player can own at a given time before the player units start freezing, I will ask this question in World Editor Help Zone eventually. This hypothetical medieval race will probably feature taxes and corruption mechanic too.

Then you might be pleasantly surprised since Mikasa might be one new heroes in the next version. I just need a ultimate for her but if I can't think of anything then I will settle on a damage dealing and debuffing one.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to your suggestions. I'm gonna need it because the campaign is going to contains lots of heroes and they need custom abilities. I kept it under wraps since I wanted to show something concrete first. It's not a exactly a traditional campaign gameplay (not melee/altered melee, it is vaguely rpgish) nor related to Warcraft universe at all. And it's not the Nazarick (anime) one either. It's a videogame universe, there are others before me like a decade before that attempted this but they mostly never finished or released it at all...

Sounds interesting but I need to find a way to restrict animals from wandering too far away unless you fenced them in but I can't think of coming across of suitable fence and gate models for that and make the command card cluttered requiring a second build menu. Hm, I can probably make a farm dog animal with an ability that will force the farm animals to return to the nearest owned building.

Expanding on that idea, once farm animals matured not only they provide gold and temp food but also provide leathers that can be used as ingredients for crafting armor/etc items. This can applied to crops too, for example flour to bread pipe line from the bakery building. Instead of the previous leaderboard and basic animal idea maybe it will be list of current, owned farm stuff (flour, eggs, bread, etc) and farm animals will only provides farm stuff not gold that will be utilized in the second build menu (for example, restaurants that gives higher passive income but uses up farm ingredients). Anyway, I'm not sure where I will pivot to, either the previous basic idea or the new deeper one.

There are also other ideas like Tree Nursery building that near revive (replant) dead trees. If the trees are alive, then provides a small amount of wood instead. But I think I will save this one for my Corrupted Ancients/Night Elves/Satyr Race. Right now, I only have a vague idea themed around the concept of rampant overgrowth for them.

Indeed, perhaps it will best if the farming mechanic is mostly optional that will complement the vanilla melee gameplay. Here's to hoping to our discussion will get you out of the rut and give you some inspiration for the Westfall Brigade too!
