Error when downloading models

Hi i was trying to download certain models for my map and came across this error



This happens for any model i try to download

Try clearing your internet cache or with another browser e.g. FireFox

yeah i use firefox and cleared my cache and happens in almost everything i try to download
is there another way to fix this or r u guys gonna fix it?

Do you experience this error on specific resources each and every time, or it it random?

Since the recent server move, we've experienced intermittent downtime: that's probably why you got a 404 error or two. I occasionally get them too (if the server happens to be down). Such downtime is always temporary and usually lasts for only a few minutes.

As the new server is more fully optimized, these types of errors should become far less frequent.

it happens on everything i try to download from the hive and everytime this happens its been going on for days

Your not alone. The same thing happens to me for every model, icon or spell I try to download.

Well, I can say the problem is most likely related to DNS resolution. However, I am unable to replicate the problem on my computers/servers (everything works for me) so I am having trouble determining what's wrong specifically.

Me too. Works perfect. I am hoping to get my dad to get us a static IP. That will probably clear some of the DNS trouble

... That is not possible. Only on the local network. On teh internetz your ISP gives you the static IP, not yourself.

omg im so stupid...i forgot to say that i got a new router cuz the one i had was old so my parents got a new one sooo im not sure if thats the problem...

Well, other people have had somewhat similar problems so I am not entirely sure your router is the problem. It might be Hive's DNS, or the DNS caching policies at some ISPs.

From my testing i think its the chaeing polisies of some ISPs
becaues i never had that error before

well i think its the router cuz i remember before i even got a new router the hive was working fine for me

I think for me it might be slow connection because when i click on the link it loads for about 30 seconds then goes to an error message.

P.S. My internet is fast.

I could download a few skins yesterday. Then that happened. And I still can't download.
