Effects and models

I made my first model and i want to add some effect to it.(something like flash or small flashing stars)I tried Geoset Merge but it doest work.Could you help me?

Try looking at the standard WarCraft models. Maybe that can help you

he means try loading up a model made by Blizzard or another model you didn't make with effects, and have a look and try and figure out how they made it or how it works or sumthing like that.
