I'm attempting to create an underground environment, accessible by entering a downward ramp-cave system. While this is essentially, to me, something that could be easy to accomplish, but it's proven to be a bit more than that.
While terraining downward, after about the second ramp, the terrain refused to place more ramps when I highlighted the area. I tried making more room and that didn't appear to solve the issue either. The default terrain height is 14, so I have plenty of room to continue going down. Each ramp is spaced about two tiles apart for a continuous downward travel. (If you look in the map, delete the archway doodads and you should see either where I've placed naga stairs as a replacement OR the blank cliff where the stairs would be deleted if they get caught in the selection. That is the spot that refuses to be a ramp.)
Does the editor simply not allow a continuous line of ramps as such?
Also, I need a third person camera system that can fit to the size of the underground interior. I have attached the map so that you may see what size I am working with.
I basically want the height of the camera to change so that the camera remains behind the unit and doesn't go into the ceiling, as well as properly adjusting itself depending on where the unit is facing. I imagine this is going to end up requiring some advanced JASS coding.
By example, I want the camera going down when the unit goes underground, and the camera looking up so you can see the exit, ect.
I will eventually need to increase the size of the archway doodads to make more ceiling as the underground area expands. Is it possible to raise the height of the archway so that I can properly do everything with this method of roofing? Will I need to base it off of another doodad?
And a final question, is it possible to make the archway doodad invisible but keep its shadow over an area? So everything is still dark as though there were a roof, but it's accustomed to show you the inside from a top-down point of view. (Not for this map, but still something I need to know.)
