DotA Edit?

Hey guys. Does anybody know of a way I can edit DotA and maps like it in World Editor? It keeps comin' up with the error "File size is too large." It's drivin' me nuts kuz I wants to make custom Heroes!

Do you mean edited the game itself, or just looking at their triggers to see how they made their Heroes?

You can just ask for help on how to make cool abilities, or read tutorials for that stuff here.

And I don't think anyone is allowed to edit Dota.

Well you can download the DotA template and make your own DotA if that's what you want. The one we know as DotA is just the Allstars version out of far too many DotAs.

This is because this map is protected .
Nothing else
You can learn by asking others or simply, PM the creator of the map (IceFrog) for the un-protected map (WHICH I can guess the probability you can get the map is 0.00)

Ah, right. I forgot that you need a copy of DotA to create custom heroes. ;P

If you opened up Dota to see how they did custom heroes you'd probably end up just more confused. The best way to learn is by work, try looking at some GUI spells here and then try to make your own spell (start with something simple of course).

i ve made my own version which still needs fixing and completion. N.b you need worldeditor unlimited to open the file but trust me u can still play it from warcraft.
