500 effects isn't enough?

Google it.

Sometimes you have to live with what you've got.

whenever you want a huge sfx, don't use
  • Special Effect - Create a special effect at blah using ThunderClapCaster.mdl
instead use
  • Unit - Create 1 dummy unit at blah facing defaul building degrees degrees
because you can scale units up to ten times their normal size using the object editor.
Be sure to set the model for the dummy unit to the special effect you want to use
If you want them to be even bigger than 10x, use
  • Animation - Change unit size to x% x% x%
and set the values for x. i.e. 1500% will be 15x bigger than the normal size
Hope that helped

Search for it or Google it. Basically, dummy units are units that do not work as normal units. They are there for making stuff that the world editor can't normally do, for example, scale special effects.
Also, most dummies don't have a model means that they are invisible.
Plus 99,45235646% of them have the 'locust ability' to make them unselectable/invincible which is very helpful.
In addition, dummies are mostly used in spells like this (here almost all special effects including the firelords are dummies)
