Well for those of you who do not know\remember I am going to be playing a MMORPG unlike any other like it in a couple of weeks. The game is called Dark and Light and it is the largest MMORPG ever. It sports about 15 different Races, 18 or so classes, and 72 crafts. There are 2 different types of character levels, each divided into two different areas of interest. Over 40.000km^2 of explorable space with a crazy amount of detail in the storyline.

I will be a Wood Elf, eventually become a Ranger, I will be Dark. Oh, Dark fights Light who gets killed by Dark, or at least so far as I am concerned Light will lose.

My guild will be called Clan Akkaba, after the mortal descendants of Marvel's character Apocalypse. We will, obviously, be a Dark guild.

If you have any questions please let me know here, the game is released in about 2-3 weeks (27th April) and if you pre-order you get a free griffon mount :) I will go into detail later more about my guild, I do not allow in just anyone, but feel free to ask questions until I can be more thourough in my explanation.

(Edit: oops, forgot to give you the link, it is: www.darkandlight.net for english, it has many different languages)

Utilizing the BigWorld MMO technology, Dark & Light from NP Cube boasts a continuous gaming world spanning 40,000 square kilometers, with no break-up of servers or zones

That sounds big.

Tens of thousands of people will all be able to play at the same time in the same realm

This sounds better then WoW...

mmm....

They definatly have a great range of screenshots though.

Well Looks very nice.

The graphics are worse than WoW, I will not deny that, but there is a great story, awesome mutability, and the playability is through the roof. There is literaly something for everyone, from the avid player to the occasional delver, DnL has something for everyone.

Also if you do not like something in DnL you can change it. Some things, such as your "superficial" apperance is easy; to change your hair go to a barber, tatoos are at a parlor, et cetera. If you do not like your class then go out and fight in a new way and earn skills through a new manner of doing stuff (yes you can go from warrior to mage with little trouble). With the right quests you can even change your gender and Race. Everything is mutable, if you do not like it then change it.

Well I have been here later than I originally intended to, so I will say some stuff about the Clan:

We are Dark sided, we will kill any and all Lighters that we find.
We are community oriented, and the community is the Clan
We take care of ourselves and our members, we do charge each other to build stuff or for help unless it becomes unreasonable
Although we do not charge our own members the creator reserves the right to request the materials from the person asking (this is mostly for epic like stuff)
Power leveling is encouraged as it makes us all stronger, and the best way to earn this right is to help your benefactor later by grouping
Do not abuse the Clan or this will happen to you:
Dragon%20Fight%202.jpg

Most of the players are my real life friends, so treat them with respect
You are welcome to invite other people but I will only accept them if they pass my tests, like I said this is a community that helps each other and I do not want people who see us merely as a means of getting a new bow or spell.

40 euros\dollars to buy right now, 5-10 a month, first month free. Pre-order to play advanced beta, griffon mount on release, and it supports multiple languages.

They have not made a set price yet, but look at it like this; pre-order now and if it is not worth 10 a month then cancel after the first month.

I think perhaps you misunderstand 1-month free. They tend to make you buy at least a month before you can play at all. And it's not whether it's worth it or not, as it looks like it will be. But rather if I have the money or not.

Bah if you let something as small as $5 stop you then I will help you out. If you do well then it is well worth the money and if not I am sure you can find a way.

I really am short for cash at the moment, I'm paying half of the $60 a month bill for my internet connection, at this house, and a about $10 of it at my other house. My pc at my other house broke recently, so I can only play half the time in any case until I save the money for a new pc, which is why I am short on cash.

I'm 14, which means any employer of mine legally does not have to pay me even minimum wage. Besides, I can't legally work for another 4 months or so, when I am 14 and 9 months old.

Maybe you should not join my guild then, we are power hungry, greedy, deceptive, and belligerant warmongerers who seek nothing less than the complete domination of the economy and the destruction of the foolish Light side.

We are not evil, Dark is not in any shape, form, or fashion, evil. Also I was kidding, I will likely invite you to the guild if my friends ok it and you think you can handle the responsibility. Main thing is we are a community, so do for others and we do for you, for free.

Yes there is no reason at all to believe that Dark is evil or that Light is good, it is all a manner of perspective. I think the Light is evil because they follow the old Gods who grew arrogant in their ways and became tyrannts over the living. It was because of the change and innovation brought on by the Dragon Wars that things were able to change, which is good because if things stagnate they die.

To be hounest it sounds and looks fantastic! But I can't afford monthly fees, I doubt I will even be able to buy the main game 0_o. If I suddenly get a load of money I will join. I will look on the internet to see if there are any free ways of playing it.

What sort of tests are needed to get in? Because I have never played a MMORPG in my life, but im pro at FF, especially FF8 which I was teh uber ownage!

First off who in the world edited Dan's stuff in green? That is something I do, hence why my text is green, it helps people realize when I do something. I do not go around using indigo, or cyan, or olive for a reason. Who ever did it please do not do it again, I am asking you from one proffessional to another.

Dan: ok, yeah you did it somewhere else, but at least now I know who did it. I was worried because I did not want someone to go around and do crazy stuff to other people's posts in my colour as that would implicate me and I would feel bad because it would sound like a very poor excuse if they screwed it up and I said it was not me.

Shados, if you do not have it immediately it is no big deal, you may not get the griphon but when you are able to play we just help you out that much more to get to our levels :) Like I constantly tell people, this is a community guild, we help each other out. I want it to be like my other guilds where everyone builds everyone elses items and equipment so that we all make massive amounts of money.

With massive money we hire mercenaries to go out and die for us, then when the enemy is weak we go in with our vastly superior items and wipe them all out and take all of the credit. Hey, I am not afraid to say it, I will gladly let others die for me if I and my friends live.

Richer, nah. More powerful

Hey, I like others dying for me, thus why DD is the meat shield and I stand really far away with a bow so I can run if he dies. Er, I mean, DD plays the pivitol role of a tank and I am the long range support. Yess, that is what I meant.

Also spelled gryphone, gryfon, griffone, gyrephon, and gryephon depending upon which version of english you wishe to use  For DnL it is griffon according to their own website.

Point in cheek, play the game with me. I have not made much on the webpage for the guild, but here is what I have: www.freewebs.com/akkaba

I will add more as time allows.

The website is mostly for friends of mine for reference to others that they think would make a good addition. Plus I put in a lot of RP in it because I am an RPer even if I do not require it from my guild. Most of my friends will RP to some degree, so if you are bothered by it then do not group with me :p

Do you all know who Apocalypse is? The one from Marvel I mean.

I can't beleive they actually killed Apocalypse in a few of the timelines, I mean, he's supposed to be invulnerable and immortal! Anywho, reading through your site now. I should be getting some hosting of my own fairly cheap (if I have the $ ), so I can host you when I do have it if you want.

I want to finish the webpage first. I have no rush for the guild in the forums, the people who are invited know who we are and my e-mail address so it is not too hard. Hell, most of them know my phone number.

If you buy it you will download it. That simple and easy, no retail, no lines, no whiny brats, just good old internet.

I have it on freewebs cuz it is free and I am not trying to impress people. Thing you need to remember is that we do not go out asking people to join us, so I do not care how it looks. People come to us and if they pass they get in, this includes even my own friends; if they cannot pass the simple test then I do not want them in regardless of power.

personally i like retail, i like having boxes and actually owning something. unfourtunatly i do not think i will get this game or any other MMORPG for a long time. monthly fees are stupid and i stand by that. however i hear there is new MMORPG that uses some new system that allows users to play for free, it is quake something or something quake. i heard of a friend and i will find out more about it but as for these i think i will leave them. plus i have oblivion to play now any ways ;)

Guild Wars is free

You are right, it is so dumb that people need to get paid money in order to bring in new features, I mean they should not get paid anything at all for their hard work.

I rather like Guild Wars system, and yes people do need to be paid for their work but I seriously doubt the millions of dollars Blizzard makes every month from WoW all goes to their workers, ya know? Still, more games with little or no monthly cost would be good, seriously I beleive Blizzard could probably support their workers on expansion packs and still make money!

the money blizzard gets goes to server hosting. however that costs a fraction of the revinue. if they charged people reasonably to make a profit for workers and money for servers it would be something like £1.50 per person. this also would attract more customers, which while putting more strain on servers would make more money.
