Hi, I am trying to create a custom ability based on Ancestral Spirit, and I would like this ability to only work on Naga (unlike the base ability, which only works on Tauren). I don't see an option for this anywhere in the object editor though. Is something like what I've described possible?

As a temporary workarounds solution, I've classified the units that I would like to be affected by this ability as Tauren in the object editor. This works for my needs, but it puts the "Tauren" subtitle beneath the unit's name when selected, which I'd rather avoid if possible. Does this have any workaround?

Thank you for your help!

Ancestral Spirit is one of those hardcoded abilities so unfortunately there is not much you can do in terms of modifying it

For your workaround, you can edit the "Tauren" text in Advanced > Game Interface

Replacing it with "Naga" could be an idea, unless you have actual taurens in your map :p Perhaps it would accept a whitespace character instead of a name though

OK, yeah I figured that the ability was hardcoded in that way but it's good to get solid confirmation on that. It's good to know that there is a way for me to edit that text though. Thank you so much for the help!

Here's a map containing a custom triggered Ancestral Spirit ability. I made it target dead Naga by default since that's what you wanted but it can be customized to target anything you want.

The triggers rely on 2 Abilities, one for searching for a nearby corpse and another for the actual targeting of the corpse. A unit will need BOTH of these abilities for the triggers to work properly. But don't worry, one of the abilities is completely hidden so it'll feel like there's only 1 ability.

I also triggered in a fake error message as an example of what you COULD do when you can't find a nearby corpse. This error is NOT an ideal solution in it's current state so if that's something you desire then you should search for a proper "custom error" system to replace it with.

The map requires the latest patch to open and patch 1.31+ to use the triggers.
