Hi, all. Clash of the Creeps is nearing completion now, and I wanted to show you guys a preview video in the form of a recent beta game.

COTC (Clash of the Creeps) is a more or less traditional RTS featuring four custom factions with many new spells, abilities, upgrades and units.

As of now, it only exists on (4)Deadwater Drop, but when it's finished, it will be ported to every map that comes with WCIII RoC and TFT.

The custom factions featured in COTC are as follows:
Quilboar/Centaur
Gnoll/Kobold
Naga/Murloc
Satyr/Corrupted Furbolg

The video below features myself playing as the Naga against a friend of mine playing as the Quilboar. Like the video description says, he doesn't have much experience at WCIII, so he didn't put up much of a fight, and much of the video is just me taking over the map and wondering when I'll be getting attacked. If you just wanna' see the battle, that starts in part 4 at seven minutes, but if you want to see the whole build-up, I've left that mostly intact.

I figure a video beats the hell out of screenshots, right?

It's been a long time coming, but the release is currently planned for April 23, 2012. I want to get it to Alpha stage before I release it, but I've decided that if it's still in Beta by my birthday then whatever, I'm just gonna' release it as Beta.
And thank you for showing an interest. ^^

Oh, and here's another preview video; this time for the Quilboar/Centaur faction.

Yay! Thank you!!!

Cool preview of the quillboar race. Btw, I don't have that many playmates. Will the computer ai function properly as well if I were to include CPU units like computer insane?

Not initially. When a map is being played on Battle.net or on LAN, it has a limit of 8MB of less, or it won't run. AI scripts are rather sizable, and as such, there simply is not enough file space to include them; there are already a great many number of sacrifices I had to make just to get it to barely fit in the 8MB limit.
However, that being said, I do have plans to make a single player version that will NOT function on Battle.net or LAN games, but the computer AI scripts will be included. I really can't say when the single player edition will be released as I've barely scratched the surface of figuring out the AI editor, which is far more esoteric than it needs to be.
On the plus side though, the Satyr/Corrupted Furbolg faction will still work when you set them to CPU. They won't use all of their custom features (like haunting trees with Wisps to turn them into Corrupted Treants), but they'll actually put up a fight, unlike the other three. I guess that the Satyr faction is close enough to its original form that the computer still has a decent enough idea of what to do with it.
So until the release of the single player edition, you can still fight against the Satyr/Corrupted Furbolg as CPU, but the other three will essentially just sit there not doing anything.

As has been mentioned, the currently planned release date for COTC is April 23, 2012. I've decided that the release of this project has taken FAR too long. I mean, when I started this thing, I thought I would have it finished in about two months. Here I am now, over two years later. Hahaha. So even if it is not 100% complete, then I will release it as a Beta if I have to, but it is coming out on the 23rd of this month.
As for the .w3w/.rar issue, COTC is not a Reign of Chaos title, it requires the latest version of The Frozen Throne. As such, the extension type on the maps will be .w3x as opposed to .w3w. The download files will most probably be .rar files containing .w3x files within. At first there will only be two maps, but after it's all done and fixed up, and all the necessary little ends have been met and beta is over, then I am going to be exporting all of the custom changes to every other map that comes with RoC and TFT. So COTC will be playable on ALL the old classic maps.
If it becomes popular and successful and I get enough requests for it, I'll probably even make a single player Campaign Mode.
Now, as for where you can download it from. I will host it here on The Hive if they'll allow it, although I don't see that being a problem. But I know for a FACT that you will be able to download it at http://www.fifthindependent.com, probably somewhere in the Multimedia section under Programs or Various Files.

I'm currently trying to host the premier game of COTC on Battle.net. The game is titled "COTC Clash of the Creeps" and I'm hosting it on US East. I hope that some people from The Hive will see this message and join the game. I'll be recording it and uploading it to Youtube. After the game, I'll be uploading the map. Sorry for the tardiness. ^^;;

PS: I may end up remaking the game under a new name if no one joins, but it'll have COTC in the title no matter what.

it seems that AI knows how to play as satyr race, probably because it's very similar to the way night elves play
