A wonderful and yet simple model that is perfect for AOE/EE style of maps. Great job.
Nothing to do with vikings. Maybe Greeks?
Greeks did not use the Circus or any type of amphitheater. It was a Roman thing. The Greek theaters tended to be half circles and primarily for plays as opposed to fighting or Racing. Though it should be noted the Etruscans used small versions for ceremonial purposes which is where it is believed the Romans got the idea from.
