Sometimes when using certain browsers there is a log in failure. Try to reload the site, check the box "Remember Me" and then log in again. As a last resort clear your browser cache and cookies then try again.

I love it. It's great for quickly helping someone troubleshoot in WE, for example, or for discussing projects.
I suggest that we get different channels set up, and maybe have it so that people can create a separate room, if they wanted to discuss something with someone.

I'm impressed with the continued development of our chat room.

The Avatars linking to a user's information page are based on one's user/moderator/administrator/reputation status.
A script has been added that introduces users as they enter or leave the chat.
A hyperlink for the chat room has been added to the main THW tool bar.
An "address" feature has been implemented. If one clicks on a /nick the selected user's name(s) are placed in the chat input field.
A "whisper" feature has been added. Double clicking on a user's name allows private messages to be sent.
An "announcement" function is present: this allows admins to display important messages.
An "ignore" command has been implemented. By typing: /ignore username a particular user's chat messages will not be displayed until the /ignore command is used again.
The addition of the various emoticons really dresses up the chat. They seem somehow familiar...hmmm.
A "Status" feature has been added: it adds a postscript ot usernames to show that they are inattentive or just lurking. Type /@ <location> to activate this feature. Type /@ followed by a space to set syatus to normal(none).
How many emoticons are available and what are the keyboard shortcuts for them? Could a popup menu be added to display the avaliable smilies and allow them to inserted into the chat strings?
Could sounds be added so that when users enters a message a subtle sound is played?
Could more channels be added: one for off-topic, one for Warcraft III discussion, one for WE help and assistance, etc?
Could the navigation bar for Forums/Maps/Models be moved BELOW the chat window so that the window hugs the top of the page?
Could the page itself be renamed from "The Hive Workshop Chat" to " Chat - The Hive Workshop" so that one can easily distinguish which window/tab is the chat when multiple windows/tabs are open at the same time?
Could a topic be set by admins/moderators and displayed at the top (or above) the chat window?

Not really a bug, but it needs to be fixed.
If you are on the Resources page, there's a link to the Chat which does not work yet.

I still cant get in .. i tried to do everything .. it still shows me the NOTE: you need to be logged in .. add a log-in thingy there that would be easier to prevent this .. because i just tried everything and im starting to get angry

The chat is great.
Only thing I do not really like is icon system since im not a great fan of orcs.
Maybe make it unlockable icons that can be opened by rep and posts.
Sort of like the battlenet system but for the chat function.

I know every ones WELL aware the chat is in progress but I though I should still report bugs..
Like every one else some times even though you’re logged on it still says your not. BUT what happened to me is: I was talking too some people in the chat room for about 20 mins when a message SPAMMED me YOU NEED TO BE LOGGED ON! It said about 20 or more of those and messed up the screen. Right in the middle of me typing a message.
By the way ralle I love the work you did on this site!

Do not double post ! There is an "Edit-Button" for a reason.
And I got that problem too, you need to save your Passwort in your browser datas to prevent logging off, I use firefox, and it's asking you when you log in the first time, if you want to save your passwort, if you do so, you won't have any problems.

BUG - When the chat box becomes very full it starts to go to the top of the list of whats said and hang there for 2 seconds and if nothing is said it eventually goes to the bottom. This makes it hard to read stuff and can cause confusion. Im using Internet Explorer 7 on a Windows Xp SP2 system (up to date with all updates).

Those errors occasionally happen when Ralle is making changes to the site or the chat room itself.
I was present earlier today (as were you Ham Ham) and I was noticing some failures myself. Things have settled down in the last half hour or so: the chat room seems stable now.
Ralle himself can explain the exact reason(s) that these errors occur.

The color designating entry and exit actions is (I believe) #9999FF. I originally called it purple, but in English it's probably best described as "lavender." However, I'm not going to write THAT on the chat info page: I changed it to "light blue."
