Charm/Possession not giving Attack and Defense upgrades?

Hi!

Is it normal that Charm/Possession does not grant the Attack and Defense Upgrades of charmed/possessed units? It does give spellcaster upgrades, but not such as Steel Melee Weapons and Steel Armor.

Intended behaviour. It has always worked like that throughout patch history, as far as I know. Ability and caster upgrades are researched by the owner of the possessing unit, but damage and armor upgrades are not.
