Channel spell, minimum range.

But it would trigger cooldown and mana cost anyway. Channel starts casting immediatelly and doesnt have an effect on the cast point or backswing point. Or maybe theres a way if you find a tricky way to modify channel.

Could you not just set it up completely with triggers so that when you click the spell itself, the mana and cooldown isn't started (i.e. dummy spell), but then runs a trigger that checks the range, and THEN will actually use the spell if it is within range, subtract the mana, and fire the cooldown, and if not then give an error message like "You are too close" ?
