Can you actually split player resources with real instead of int?

Hello. Id like to know, f.e, you the team gets lumber from some event (f.e 2), and there are like 4 player in a game, how much resources they would "actually" get? And who is the one that will get higher? I assume that if resources are integers, there's no proper way to just set integer variable as = 2/4, and then split it across all 4 player equally.
