Bypass maximum text length in GUI actions

Hi, new user here.

There seem to be some limits to the length of text that can be used in GUI.

For comments it seems to be something like 300? for custom scripts maybe more like 284. Probably depends on encoding and what not.

Is there a way to bypass this limit? Some editor setting, or some hack? A way to split a line of custom script to two lines?
