The only supposedly hidden abilities are Attack, Move, Patrol, Locust, Stop, Invulnerable, and Hold Position. :O

Nope it doesn't seem you removed it, I never faced such bug, it seems it's under (Item) category or whatever. Maybe you selected something in the right list and you searched. You must select any ability in the left list so you can search an ability. if you select a value from the right list ( Like Stats - Mana Cost ) you will search for values.
And perhaps it's not a custom spell , it's just a modified spell. Any either I don't know :/

Is an ability that you made not showing in the list?
Are you missing an ability for a custom spell?
Is the ability list bugging showing many copies of the same ability?
Does the editor crash when choosing the ability you want?

It's custom, mostly used in DotA where the unit disassembles all items it has into their original recipes.

Aha, then my guess would be that he needs to hide those abilities in a disabled invisible spellbook, there was a tutorial for doing that somewhere on this site,
for when you delete them cannot let the hero disassemble all items into their original recipes anymore.

I also have this kind of problem today, I can't find where is the spells in the object editor but it shows in the ability value list in any unit.

Abilities, select a spell and press CTRL + F.

Are you using your own map or a deprotected one?
