While simplicity seems to be working for you, this icon seems to be too zoomed out to properly make out what is happening. ;O

I agree, the hand with some clawing motion effect would look better (with regards to the label of the resource, power slash). This looks like more of a buff type icon, since it emphasizes on the hand or claw, and not the clawing or slashing motion.

I may be bias as I can see whats going on cause I made the icon. But I understand, Ill make a more distinctly cropped icon soon , cheers! thanks!
