To start with, the icon looks very boring. Sorry.
I know that some people need simple icons, but if you are going to make a simple icon, you could play alittle with the perspective, instead of just drawing a shield from the front. That only works good, if you really need to see what is on the shield.
As it looks now, I would give it 2/5.
