Sin'dorei300: If u think u can apply the correct shading with the program that u use - do it.
If not, try to use a suitable art program("Gimp" is free), coz the shading isn't applied correctly.
Some parts seem more flat than others.
U'll notice that - if u look carefully at ur reference pic.
Also, u might observe other helmet icons, i especially recommend NFWar's ones.
