Looks like a draw, for some way it doesn't look realistic.
Maybe if you make the steel more shadowed and thick would look realistic!

5. I really had no idea what I was doing. I just tried to add something interesting on it.

Hmm the second one looks much better than the first one, really.
Now, I think it needs something else in the top of the helmet, because it looks too simple about the form.

I dont know, like horns, a circlet, or something... or maybe it's just me.

Make helmet tall, Make top of helmet more spitzed and remove that additional effects, cubes, add greater shadows and something like that, to make a steel. Then add that cubes.
