I don't like it very much, can't exactly say why, maybe the perspective or the colours don't fit to my favour...but that's my opinion. If I look at this icon in an objective way, it's well made for 20min and very useful for magic missles ( 3.5/5 )

Really like it to be honest!
Maybe a bit too colorful. And the background could get a bit darkened, so the bolt gets the attention, right now, the whole icon seems like the center.

From my point of view it needs contrast! Just contrast
First try it with filters, but that could look meh...
Otherwise try using a black brush with, let me guess: 15 -20 opacity, maybe a bit less, to add contrast!

I like how the bolt looks, but the background is far, far too bright.

Looks more like the Destroyer's Orb of Anihilation's missile
And yeah, the background is too bright so it's color and the missile are both almost the same. But the missile itself looks just excelent.
