The thing the arrow penetrated looks really like rocks or granite. And it appears to be piercing from underground.

Well I love how the smoke shows the after effects of the action.

It looks like just a freshly penetrated arrow... from Below.

the background is well drawn, the arrow not so much.

you should give it some proper shading, remove or rework the white outline to resemble smoke more than just a thick white outline, and possible increase this size of the arrow tip. right now, it looks too flat and small.
