Huh. I already wanted to point out that I had no idea what was going on in the first version. It's really messy, which makes it difficult to tell what it's supposed to represent.
Wise choice to use other border versions for alternative icons.

The first one (red color) is actually a scratch made one, thats why it looked messy.
