Downloaded this Icon set about 10 minutes ago, all 4 work in editor and seem to work fine in game, so...unless this explodes after a few hours of use, I see nothing wrong with it and can see it being useful not only for armor/shield buff (like a hotter version of frost armor) but also for offensive means, perhaps magma-based anti-armor (along the lines of corruption or the like) as it kinda looks to me that a couple chunks are coming loose near the mid/top left corner('im also seeing it as a shoulder piece though) and for a buffing spell those "chunks" could represent magma chunks orbiting the armor to aid in blocking incoming attacks and/or cause fire damage as an "Immolation" type effect...
lol...well i'm off to work on the new spell(s) this inspired me to make up
btw...does anyone know if it is possible to create a spell/ability with dual purposes...example=in the review above I gave 2 different abilities, could I make one spell that does both?(as in it buffs allies' armor and reduces enemy armor) I figure I would have to use triggers(blah) but hopefully it can be done without jass...if anyone knows and feels like answering please drop me a reply
Yeah, in fact I had created this icon for my Spell "Magma Carapace" for a red inferno hero, This spell has dual functions as u had mention:
1) Increase armor bit by to a limit when continually under attack, and its reduces in time; ei the magma is thickening and then wear offs in time.
2) Immolation where it burns units in its AOE per second.
For your case I could suggest u create a dummy unit which bears the armor reduction aura, while the hero itself bears the actual armor increasing aura. Then make the dummy unit moves with your hero.
-OR-
Simply create an "empty" abilty where the icons is all black, apparently "invisible". =D
