Why not? the icons you showed are not really EXACTLY the same and this can have a slightly different use. Just take a look on how many swords and axes have been approved and you will see

However the icon itself is quite okay, except from the white line of the back/darkside being a bit to intense in my opinion. Also you missed to add a shadow to one of the spikes (the one that you look directly onto)

i dont think it looks like the teeth are attached to the mace, perhaps if you added some cracks on the mace where the teeth are it would solve the problem.
