Looks great. On the first look the fire appears a bit weard but later it just looks awesome!

But you say it should be used for a unit and it's just an arrow.. maybe I would change it to an item or abilty icon.

somehow that doesnt sound right to me.
o and, background+white fade to black=crappy
it wont be accepted btn and disbtn look same, get W3IR and try again with different background colors.

DISBTN border is wrong, you must create new one, try with using Warcraft 3 Image Renamer

Icon doesn't seem so good, background is bad, matching white and black.. no no... and it looks more like a fire shovel, than an arrow. There are already made fire arrows better than this one...

It still looks weird to me
Not very warcraft III'ish i would say, else very nice.
I would change the background, thou.

Never use gradient overlay, not even for a background.

Also, it looks more like a blob of orange clay than fire. Add stronger highlights to it and perhaps that will make it look more like flames. :]
