How to make rusty(Easy way)

This technique requires gimp or photoshop's filters! dont use it if you hate filters!.
1. Go paint some parts of it( new layer ) red. opacity your choice. 100% recommended.
2. smudge them. Keep them around the object. 100% opacity.
3. Use the ultimate filter : Red Eye Removal!.
4. Play with it until you get the result you want.

It's to shiney. it may suit in RPG maps that have the 'settings' option.

I agree. The first one looks shiny and metallic, but the second one looks more like rock than metal (to me).
