OK, if you want it to look like in the original concept (Pic up) then you should do the following (IMO):
-Rotate the sword/blade/icon/whatever 90 degrees against the clockwise direction.
-Stronger shadings on the ends of the sword( That is, the blade). Make it look sharper n' shit.
-maybe a dark colored background, so that the blade stands out.
